Nelson Alexander and AMM, how local partnerships benefit everyone
On 17 July 2025, Nelson Alexander staff volunteered with Alex Makes Meals, preparing 400 nutritious ready-to-heat meals for Melbourne residents facing food insecurity. The meals were distributed through community partners supporting families, older neighbours, students, and unemployed individuals.
The Nelson Alexander Foundation marked its 20th anniversary with Foundation Day 2025, raising $251,706 across offices. Their Commercial Office division donated $10,000 to Alex Makes Meals, funding operations including kitchen equipment, refrigeration, and delivery services.
Team members shared positive reflections. One volunteer noted the experience revealed "the entire process from go to finish," while another appreciated seeing "meals look very appetising and they taste great too."
The volunteer session involved fast-paced meal preparation with consistent focus on nutritional value and food safety. All 400 meals were labeled with heating instructions and best-before dates before distribution through established partner networks.
