The organization highlights how individuals discover creative approaches to supporting charities beyond conventional donation methods. Anita Younger, a Year 9 student, received an assignment to support a cause during the 2020 pandemic lockdown.

After researching organizations online, Anita selected Alex Makes Meals because of "its relevancy amidst the lockdown" and her passion for cooking aligning with the charity's mission supporting healthcare workers.

Rather than traditional fundraising, Anita developed a community cookbook by gathering family recipes from friends and community members. She explained: "I wanted contributors to feel a sense of involvement, as if they too were assisting during the pandemic."

The student sold digital cookbook copies, directing proceeds to Alex Makes Meals. She reflected: "I believed that creating this cookbook was worthwhile. Selling it meant that buyers would also feel they were contributing."

Anita concluded with an encouraging message about supporting charitable work, noting: "Even occasional donations or volunteering can make a significant difference."
